Manjuyod Sand Bar The Maldives of the Philippines

Manjuyod sand Bar also known as Sumapao Shoal is a 7-kilometer stretch of pristine white sand beaches. It also has an area of more or less 600 hectares including the sunken Portions. No wonder, some tourist call it the Maldives of the Philippines.

The Island is located in Manjuyod Province of Negros Oriental, however it is more associated to Bais City due to it’s proximity.

It is called sandbar because one can see the formation of bars of sand in the area at certain times of the day at low tide. During high tide, the sandbars are submerged and the water rises to as high as four feet.

With its turquoise water and white sand beach, nothing could ever go wrong. Cottages are also available on the island for daytrips or overnight accommodation. These structures are built on stilts, ready once the sandbar disappears at high tide.

Boat rentals range from Php 2,500.00 to Php 3,000.00 depending on the number of passengers.
