INGREDIENTS
- 1 kilo pork belly or kasim
- 1 can of regular coca cola
- 4 cloves of minced garlic
- 4 dried bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon peppercorn
- 1/8 cup soy sauce
- 1/8 cup cane vinegar
- salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Slice the pork into cubes. Place it in a casserole and pour 1 can of coca cola. Add your garlic, peppercorn and bay leaf. Cook in medium heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes to 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Add your soy sauce, vinegar and salt to taste. Let it simmer for another 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve.
NOTE:
- If you want your Adobo with a little bit of sauce or you prefer it dry, it’s okay. I usually leave a little bit of sauce for the little kids. I can heat it again for the next serving and let it dry this time. Both taste good.
- My secret ingredient is the Coca Cola. The meat is tender and even the fat itself taste better. Normally, Adobo is simmered with water not coke. However, I know which one taste better.
