INGREDIENTS
- 1 box (200 gms.) White King puto Mix
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup Selecta Butter Fresh Margarine, melted
- 3 pcs. Eggs.
- 1/8 tsp. Anis (optional)
- ¼ cup cheese, grated
- 1 pc. Egg, hard boiled & chopped for topping
DIRECTIONS
- Arrange a large steamer over boiling water.
- Line a 9”-square or round pan with wax paper.
- In a bowl, whisk the White King Puto Mix and brown sugar. Add water, Selecta Butter
- Fresh Margarine and eggs. Continue mixing until well-blended. Add nise (optional).
- Pour batter into prepared pan and top with cheese.
- Place the pan in the steamer.
- Cover the top of the steamer with cheesecloth to absorb steam and prevent it from dripping into the puto.
- Steam for about 35 minutes or until top springs back lightly when pressed.
- Brush top with melted margarine and sprinkle with chopped egg.
Puto Biñan Special
INGREDIENTS
- 500 gram pack Butterscotch Brownie Mix
- 2/3 cup water
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- grated coconut
- grated cheese
- salted egg or kesong puti
PROCEDURE
- Prepare a steamer and two 8-inch round baking pans.
- In a bowl, combine brownie mix, eggs, oil and water. Beat until smooth.
- Pour into pans. Top with grated cheese, sliced salted eggs or kesong puti.
- Steam 20 to 30 minutes or until done.
- Dish up with grated coconut
